Terms of Service

Welcome to Country Lane Doodles. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of countrylanedoodlesutah.com (the "Site") and any related services provided by Country Lane Doodles ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to use the Site, submit an adoption application, place a deposit, or sign any contract with us.

2. Information Accuracy

We do our best to keep all information on the Site — including puppy availability, pricing, breed descriptions, and parent dog information — accurate and current. However, content may contain errors or become outdated. Nothing on the Site is a binding offer; final terms apply only once a written reservation agreement or contract is signed by both parties.

3. Adoption Applications

Submitting an application does not guarantee approval or a puppy. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to approve or decline any application for any lawful reason, including based on suitability of home, prior experience, or our judgment about the best placement for a puppy.

4. Deposits, Payments & Refunds

• Deposits reserve a spot for a future puppy and are governed by the deposit agreement you sign at the time of payment.
• Unless otherwise stated in your signed agreement, deposits are non-refundable because they take a puppy off the available list for other families.
• Payments are processed by third-party providers (Good Dog, Venmo). Their terms also apply to those transactions.
• Final puppy price, payment schedule, and pickup/delivery terms are set forth in your individual puppy contract.

5. Contracts & Health Guarantee

All puppy sales and stud services are governed by the specific written contract between you and Country Lane Doodles. Any health guarantee, spay/neuter requirements, return policies, and remedies are set forth in that contract and control over anything stated on the Site.

6. Pickup & Delivery

For the safety of our dogs and family, we do not offer home pickups. Pickup and delivery arrangements are limited to safe, agreed-upon locations as described in your contract.

7. Acceptable Use

When using the Site you agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information on any form.
• Use the Site to harass, defame, or harm us, our family, or others.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, our database, or admin areas.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Site, including by uploading malware or running automated scrapers.
• Use the Site to violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.

8. Text Us Feature & SMS Consent

The Site offers a "Text Us" form where you may submit your name, phone number, and a short message. By submitting the Text Us form, you agree that:

• Your name, phone number, and message will be sent to Country Lane Doodles by SMS through our text-messaging provider (Twilio) so that Sara can review it and text you back from her personal work phone.
• You consent to receive one or more text messages from Country Lane Doodles in response to your inquiry. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.
• You are the subscriber or authorized user of the phone number you provide, and the information you submit is accurate.
• You may opt out of further text messages at any time by replying STOP, or by contacting us using the information below.
• We do not use your phone number for marketing, and we do not sell or share it with third parties other than our SMS provider as needed to deliver the message.

We are not responsible for delays or failures in message delivery caused by your carrier, your device, or our SMS provider. The Text Us feature is not intended for emergencies.

9. Testimonials & User Submissions

When you submit a testimonial, review, photo, or other content, you confirm that it is truthful, that you own or have the rights to any photos you upload, and you grant Country Lane Doodles a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, edit, and reproduce that content on the Site, in marketing, and on our social media. You may request removal at any time by contacting us.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, logos, photographs of our dogs and puppies, graphics, and the overall design — is owned by Country Lane Doodles or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, or use our content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission. Personal, non-commercial viewing is permitted.

11. Third-Party Links & Affiliate Disclosure

The Site contains links to third-party websites (such as Good Dog, Instagram, and Amazon). We are not responsible for the content, products, services, or privacy practices of those sites. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases made through links on our puppy supplies page, at no additional cost to you.

12. Disclaimers

The Site and all information on it are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Information on the Site about puppy care, training, nutrition, or health is for general informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Country Lane Doodles and its owners, family members, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Site or any information on it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100). Claims relating to the purchase of a puppy or stud service are governed by your individual signed contract, not these Terms.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Country Lane Doodles and its owners, family members, and contractors from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site that cannot be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Tooele County or Salt Lake County, Utah, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
