Bernedoodle Puppies for Salt Lake City Families

Bernedoodles are one of the two breeds our program is built around, and they are a natural fit for Salt Lake City. They bring the steady, affectionate temperament of the Bernese Mountain Dog together with a low-shedding Poodle coat — a combination that suits families who want a bigger, calmer dog without a house covered in hair.

Our Bernedoodle litters are raised inside our home in Erda, Utah, with health-tested parents, early neurological stimulation from day three, and daily handling by our whole family. Puppies go home vet checked, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, with a health guarantee and our support for life.

Getting here from Salt Lake City

Erda sits about 35 to 45 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City — I-80 west, then south at the Tooele exit. Coming from Holladay, Millcreek, or the east benches adds about fifteen minutes. Because Bernedoodle litters are less frequent than our Goldendoodle litters, most Salt Lake families plan one visit to meet the parent dogs while the litter is young, then a second trip on go-home day.

    Meeting your puppy

We love having families out to Erda to meet the dam and sire — with a larger breed especially, meeting the parents tells you a lot about the adult dog your puppy will grow into.

When a drive out to Erda doesn't work, we can arrange a safe public meet-up closer to the valley on go-home day. Exact spots are agreed with each family when the time comes — usually somewhere sensible along the I-80 corridor.

    Why Bernedoodles do well here

Bernedoodles were practically designed for Utah winters. Their thick coats shrug off snow, and they're genuinely happy on cold-weather hikes in the Cottonwoods or a snowy walk around Liberty Park.

Summer takes more care: they run warm, so early-morning and evening walks, shade, and water matter in July and August. They also need consistent grooming every six to eight weeks, and they thrive with company — this is not a breed that does well left alone all day.

What Salt Lake City families ask us

How big do they get? It depends on the pairing — we raise standard and smaller Bernedoodles, and each litter page lists the expected adult weight range.

How often are Bernedoodle litters available? Less often than our Goldendoodles, so the waitlist matters more here — list families hear first.

Are they good with kids? Very. It's the single most common reason Salt Lake families choose this breed with us.
