Our 1-Year Health Guarantee
Here are the actual terms — what is covered, what is not, how long you have, and exactly what happens if something is found. No vague promises.

How long the guarantee lasts
- First 72 hours: general health. If your own licensed vet finds your puppy unfit for purchase at the initial exam, contact us immediately — we will take the puppy back and refund the purchase price in full, or replace the puppy, at your choice.
- First 12 months from go-home day: genetic and congenital conditions, as listed below.
- For life: our support. Call or email us with any question about your dog at any age, and if you ever cannot keep your dog, we take them back.
Health testing on parents
The foundation of a healthy puppy is healthy parents. Before any dog joins our breeding program, they complete:
- OFA hip and patellar evaluations
- Comprehensive genetic panel testing (PRA, DM, vWD, and breed-specific conditions)
- Cardiac evaluations
- Annual veterinary wellness exams
- Current vaccinations and preventatives
What is covered
Genetic and congenital conditions diagnosed within the first year that are life-threatening or seriously affect your dog's quality of life:
What is not covered
We are specific about this on purpose, so nothing comes as a surprise later:
- • Parasites, viruses, and infections — parvovirus, coccidia, giardia, kennel cough, worms
- • Injuries, accidents, ingestion of foreign objects, or neglect
- • Hypoglycemia, stress-related illness, or issues arising from travel and transition
- • Allergies, food sensitivities, skin conditions, and ear infections
- • Umbilical hernias, undescended testicles, overbite/underbite, and Grade 1–2 patellar luxation
- • Conditions caused or worsened by obesity, over-exercise during growth, or poor nutrition
- • Conditions that arise after the guarantee period ends
- • Behavioral issues, temperament concerns, or training problems
- • Conditions that develop after the puppy is bred, sold, or rehomed without our written consent
What keeps your guarantee valid
Licensed vet exam within 72 hours
Have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours (excluding Sundays and holidays) of go-home day. Send us a copy of the exam report. Without this exam on file, the guarantee is void.
Keep vaccinations and preventatives current
Follow your veterinarian's vaccination, deworming, and parasite-prevention schedule, including rabies at the legally required age. Keep the records — a claim requires them.
Spay or neuter on schedule
Spay or neuter your puppy at the age your veterinarian recommends, and send us the certificate. A puppy that has been bred is no longer covered.
Feed and care for your puppy appropriately
Feed a high-quality, age-appropriate puppy food, keep your puppy at a healthy weight, and follow veterinary guidance on exercise during growth.
If a genetic issue is found
Get a written diagnosis
Your licensed veterinarian provides a written diagnosis that names the specific genetic or congenital condition, with supporting records — radiographs, lab work, or genetic test results.
Tell us within 3 days of diagnosis
Email the diagnosis and full medical records to sara@countrylanedoodlesutah.com within 3 days of the diagnosis date.
Second opinion if needed
We may ask for a confirming opinion from a second licensed veterinarian of our choosing. The buyer covers that exam's cost.
We make it right
Once the condition is confirmed, we offer a replacement puppy of comparable value from a future litter, or a partial refund of 50% of the puppy's purchase price — at Country Lane Doodles' discretion in consultation with the family.
Your dog stays with you. We never ask a family to return a dog they love in order to receive a replacement or refund. Veterinary bills, diagnostics, and treatment costs are the owner's responsibility — the guarantee covers the value of the puppy, not medical expenses. That is exactly what the 30 days of free Trupanion insurance (when activated within 24 hours of go-home) is there to bridge.
Documentation we need
- The 72-hour initial vet exam report
- Complete veterinary records from go-home day to the date of diagnosis
- A written diagnosis naming the specific genetic or congenital condition
- Supporting radiographs, lab work, or genetic test results
- Proof of spay/neuter, when your puppy has reached the required age
- Your signed puppy contract

If at any point you're unable to keep your dog, contact us first. We will always help rehome a Country Lane Doodles puppy — no questions asked. Our puppies are family, and they always will be.
